Type-I superconductivity in single-crystal Pb2Pd

چکیده

We have investigated the superconducting properties in a single crystal of superconductor ${\mathrm{Pb}}_{2}\mathrm{Pd}$ via various techniques including, magnetization, AC transport, transverse field muon spin rotation and relaxation, heat capacity. All measurements confirm transition temperature ${T}_{C}=3.0\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.1\phantom{\rule{0.28em}{0ex}}\mathrm{K}$. Electronic specific-heat data are well described by BCS expression, suggesting that opens an isotropic gap on entering state. Specific-heat jump ${\ensuremath{\lambda}}_{e\text{\ensuremath{-}}ph}$ value categorize as moderately coupled superconductor. Magnetization along with Ginzburg-Landau parameter, $\ensuremath{\kappa}$ $1/\sqrt{2}$ demonstrates is type-I

Synthesis and Superconductivity of Electrochemically Grown Single-Crystal Aluminum Nanowires

Superconducting systems with one or more physical dimensions smaller than the phase coherence length (ξ(T)) exhibit behavior different from bulk superconductors. 1 These quasi-two-dimensional (2D) or one-dimensional (1D) systems are a subject of great interest both for fundamental physics and potential technological applications. Aluminum nanowires (ANW) have been a favorite candidate for study...

Type I and Two-Gap Superconductivity in Neutron Star Magnetism

Neutron-star inner cores with several charged baryonic components are likely to be analogues of the two-gap superconductor which is of current interest in condensedmatter physics. Consequently, type I superconductivity is less probable than type II but may nevertheless be present in some intervals of matter density. The intermediatestate structure formed at finite magnetic flux densities after ...

Type I Superconductivity upon Monopole Condensation in Seiberg-Witten Theory

We study the confinement scenario in N=2 supersymmetric SU(2) gauge theory near the monopole point upon breaking of N=2 supersymmetry by the adjoint matter mass term. We confirm claims made previously that the Abrikosov–Nielsen–Olesen string near the monopole point fails to be a BPS state once next-to-leading corrections in the adjoint mass parameter taken into account. Our results shows that t...

A Novel Mechanism for Type-I Superconductivity in Neutron Stars

We suggest a mechanism that may resolve a conflict between the precession of a neutron star and the widely accepted idea that protons in the bulk of the neutron star form a type-II superconductor. We will show that if there is a persistent, non-dissipating current running along the magnetic flux tubes the force between magnetic flux tubes may be attractive, resulting in a type-I, rather than a ...

Coexistence of superconductivity (Tc= 55 K) and antiferromagnetism TN= 230 K) in YBa2CuS06. 66 single crystal

2014 Neutron scattering and susceptibility measurements on a YBa2CU3O6.55 single crystal show that the antiferromagnetic long range order coexists with superconductivity. The oxygen content has been determined by a complete neutron diffraction structure analysis. Evidence for superconductivity below Tc= 55 K has been obtained from magnetization measurements. Magnetic Bragg scattering has been o...
